Christmas celebration in Happy Joy School House

On Friday there was a Christmas celebration in Happy Joy School House, Thijmen´s nursery, where he goes three days a week. He looked really cute in his white dress with Santa hat and didn´t cry...until Santa Claus arrived. He was rather scared of this white bearded man. But he liked the present he got: a book.

Thijmen and Milou

Thijmen is really fond of his little sister Milou and vice versa. Two happy kids!

Big girl Milou

In one week time our little Milou will not be our little baby anymore. Then she will be already 6 months! Time flies and Milou is becoming a big girl.

Thijmen the Tiger

Today Thijmen had his last session in Centre Stage of this term. Centre Stage is a Drama, Music and Art school where we take Thijmen every Friday morning. Because it was the last time before the holiday break, the children could dress up. Thijmen went as a Tiger and he really liked his costume. He was having a great time untill Santa Claus arrived. Then the scary tiger became suddenly a scared little boy that wanted to be in mummy´s arms.

Milou rolls over!

A few days ago Milou rolled over to her tummy and since then she keeps on doing it. Even when we put her in bed, she turns to her tummy in no time. So now she can start practising how to roll back and start crawling.

Thijmen says "Barbapapa"

When granddad was here he brought Thijmen two books of Barbapapa. The title of one of them is Barbapapa learns English. He really likes them and can already say "Barbapapa".
Lately Thijmen is saying a lot of new words, most of them English though. The only few Dutch words he says are: aap, baby, ei, vogel, boot, boom, bal and mama. He refuses to say papa, so he calls daddy mama as well. We now know it´s not because he cannot pronounce the "P". His favourite English words are car and no. The answer to every question is: NO!

Baby group brunch

Last Saturday we had a brunch with Milou´s baby group and we had a lovely time. The weather was great (sunny, but not too hot and a nice breeze), nice people, beautiful environment and all babies (and toddles) were in a good mood! Thijmen had a great time as well and wanted to be on the slide and the swing all the time.

Lorna & Milou

Milou loves to sit with our helper Lorna in the rocking chair on the balcony. She often falls asleep when Lorna is rocking and singing for her.


We are very happy with Lorna. Although I was a little sceptic in the beginning of having someone in our house 24 hours a day, I now must admit that it is great. Especially with having two small children that need a lot of attention. Lorna is a really sweet person and very nice with Thijmen and Milou. Thijmen sometimes is not so nice to her when mummy (or daddy) is around. He than pushes her away, as if he wants to say, now I don´t need you....! Lorna does the household and prepares very nice meals for us, so we are getting very spoiled. And we can go out in the evening if we feel like it, while Lorna baby sits.
